Monster: Thespian Wraith
Thespian Wraiths
Inspirations: Spirits of the Other World in the Medium (Fuck the rest of the game), The Evil Within loading screens, Pathologic, desperate people who exist to hurt others with their delusions, depressive patterns of negative self-talk, Greek tragedy.
HD: 1 Armor: As Chain
Mask wearing wraiths wearing troubadour masks denoting their final roles in the drama of life. This is a lie. They stole these lives and roles so now act as psychopathic mimics that if not allowed to play with this façade become homicidal. All Thespian Wraiths can; mimic others whose souls they have slain or tasted (By way of consuming physical objects coveted by the person); use psychic suggestion to get others to do their bidding; vanish into the ethereal plane temporarily but must leave their disguise behind. Additionally, a Thespian Wraith has the uncanny ability to grant boons to its favorite pets and followers using an object important to its role. While under the effects of the Wraith’s boon affected creatures have Advantage (Or your system’s equivalent) on all skill checks when within sight or sound of the Wraith. The Wraith can choose to remove this boon at any time with a snap of its finger. If the object is destroyed the Wraith is destroyed and the boon (or curse) fails.
- The Hero: Wields tarnished armor and a relic weapon stolen from the tomb of a local folk hero. Rallies people to their banner with tall tales of their exploits and leads them to danger where they can be the sole survivor allowing them to feed freely on those foolish enough to listen. Cannot be harmed physically except by its fatal flaw.
- The Chorus: Wields a cast iron lyre with bloody barbed wire strings in a stained toga with rusted bronze laurel sash. Uses telepathy to whisper secrets and false truths to the spurned or overlooked where they can cause the most chaos among a vulnerable or gullible populace. In the chaos they cause will attempt to ingratiate themselves as an advisor to the powerful so as to be nearer to the pain and suffering caused. If resisted, will attempt to strangle the would-be player and take them "off-stage" to be eaten later.
- The King/Queen: Wears the finery and titles of a forgotten ruler to usurp and guide a kingdom to ruin playing on prejudices or politics to turn the people to their side. Covets important artifacts of cultural or religious significance and will destroy societal norms in order to feed quietly on what is cast aside.
- The Comedian: Wears of a laughing mask of gold and ivory. Rather than a boon lays a curse on a chosen creature which turns failures into critical failures and successes into failures as well. Curses in order to discredit and dishonor pillars of community or those suspicious of its plans. Cannot avoid laughing at all of its own jokes and pranks along with the voices of all of its prior victims in unison. When the target has been exiled or defamed by its fellows it devours them whole.
Additional masks denote unique characters whose personality has created an extremely powerful wraith that can even alter reality to suit its deluded fantasies or force others to partake in them.
